A note from our founders

We didn’t start Steinn Labs to sell hours.

Most agencies are built around a meter. You buy a block of time, or sign a monthly retainer, and the work expands to fill it. The incentives are quietly misaligned: the longer a problem takes, the better it is for the agency. We’ve been on the other side of that table, and we didn’t want to build another one of those.

So we built Steinn Labs around a simple idea: we get paid to solve problems, not to log time.

We like problems that are still raw

The most valuable work rarely arrives as a tidy spec. It usually shows up as a frustration: a process that eats a team’s week, a decision made on gut feel because the data is scattered, or a growth plan that keeps stalling at the same bottleneck. Nobody has written the requirements yet, because nobody has fully defined the problem.

That’s where we do our best work. We sit with you in the ambiguity. We map how things actually work today, ask the uncomfortable questions, and separate the symptoms from the cause. Then we shape the problem into something concrete: a clear scope, a working prototype, and eventually a product your team relies on every day.

Turning a vague problem into working software is the whole job, and it’s the part we enjoy most.

AI where it earns its place, and nowhere else

We spend our days deep in AI. We build agents, retrieval systems, and evaluation pipelines, and we know what these tools can do. That’s exactly why we won’t force AI into your business.

Sometimes AI is the answer. Often a well-designed workflow, a clean integration, or a simple piece of software solves the problem faster and cheaper. We bring AI in only when it will drastically improve productivity or meaningfully cut costs, and we’ll tell you plainly when it won’t. You shouldn’t have to pay for a technology just because it’s fashionable.

Partnerships, not transactions

Because we’re judged on outcomes, we’re invested in what happens after launch. Do your people actually use what we built? Does it still hold up a year later? What’s the next problem worth solving?

That’s why our client relationships last. On average, our clients have worked with us for more than three years. We didn’t get there through lock-in contracts. We got there because each project made the next conversation easier, and trust compounded with every problem we solved together.

What this means for you

When you work with us, you get a team that cares about the problem as much as you do. We’ll challenge assumptions, keep things simple where simple works, and measure success by the difference we make to your business rather than the hours on an invoice.

If you have a problem that doesn’t fit neatly into a brief yet, we’d love to hear about it.
